Hans Leutscher is a Dutch artist with workplaces both in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) as in Sweden (The Westcoast, very close to the Norwegian border.) He works with granite, bronze and sometimes wood. His work was once described strikingly accurate, as it being somewhat present here and now but that it actually is about something else. " What is it like to be ‘human’? I am an artist who is occupied with the question how we relate to that what surrounds us. Not the city, created by humans, but nature. Shape without substance I regard as decoration. In the best instance such work is pleasant to look at, but on the other hand it is not very captivating, because it lacks meaning. Substance and meaning are also what I want to experience while I work on a commission. This is why I don’t accept every single one that is offered to me."
